This Lunar New Year, Singapore's trendsetting 1-Group, the culinary force behind acclaimed Japanese kappo destination Oumi and the contemporary Nikkei concept FLNT, has crafted a Yu Sheng experience that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern.
One look and you know this isn't your standard takeaway platter. The set is elegantly encased in a bespoke blue box adorned with a distinctive horse motif - symbolic of strength, vitality and auspicious beginnings.
What distinguishes this Yu Sheng is its thoughtful reinterpretation of tradition. Instead of leaning on convention, it reflects the discipline of Japanese craftsmanship - delicate knife work, nuanced layering of textures and immaculate ingredients that transform a festive staple into something refined.
๐A quintet of sustainably sourced sashimi - Salmon, Tuna, Scallop, Yellowtail and Jellyfish, is artfully layered to reflect the abundance and splendour of the festive occasion. ๐งชA burst of colour and texture comes from tobiko in gold, green, red and black, plus crisp shredded vegetables that give the toss a playful crunch. ๐งดOumi's house-made Japanese plum sauce unifies the medley with refined sweetness and a gentle tang, elevating each bite into a symbolic expression of fortune and joyful beginnings.
