Nestled in the nocturnal enclave of Jalan Besar, Cha Chaan Teng (CCT) beckons with the allure of 1990s Hong Kong cinema, weaving a tapestry of mood and mystique.

Drawing inspiration from the bustling cha chaan tengs (茶餐厅) of Hong Kong, CCT’s menu is a delightful fusion of tradition and innovation.

I had a fun time sipping on cocktails paying homage to A-list HK stars and movies like Bruce Lee, while pairing them with innovative tapas such as the “Har Cheong Tin Gai” (Fried frog legs in homemade fermented shrimp paste) and the “Wu Tau Go” (Traditional yam cake with a twist).

With the addition of HK Cha Chaan Teng style dishes for lunch launching this month, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for!
