Nonette — Banh Mi & Donuts Singapore Opening

Nonette, the cult favourite from Paris known for its unapologetically bold bánh mì and inventive French-Asian donuts, has arrived in Singapore! Now till 4 October, find them at RASA Space in Republic Plaza, turning CBD into a little slice of Paris with Southeast Asian swagger.

Founded by Singaporean Pearlyn Lee, Nonette’s roots run deep in Paris’ food scene, but their heart clearly still beats with Singaporean flavour.

The bánh mì here is as indulgent as it is well-balanced. The Jambon Beurre Bánh Mì is a standout — a hefty, two-handed sandwich stacked with three types of housemade charcuterie (char siu, Vietnamese mortadella and jambon), slathered with pâté and French butter, and tucked into a crusty toasted baguette with pickles and herbs. It’s rich, tangy, savoury and surprisingly fresh — the kind of sandwich you eat in silence because it demands full attention.

If you like a bit of crunch and heat, the Vietnamese Fried Chicken Bánh Mì delivers with a thick patty, boldly spiced and drizzled with housemade sriracha mayo. It’s juicy, satisfying, and completely addictive.

Then there are the donuts — or beignets — which take a softer, cheekier approach. The Kaya Donut is a crowd pleaser: creamy, slightly salty, with a nostalgic Singaporean flavour elevated by a hint of fleur de sel. The Chilli Oil Chantilly Donut is where things get funky in the best way possible — sweet chantilly cream meets a mild chilli oil glaze for a playful punch.

For dessert lovers, the éclairs deserve attention. The Tau Suan Éclair in particular is a clever fusion of mung bean cream and youtiao, blending traditional kopitiam flavour into a French patisserie classic. There’s also a black sesame version and a rich chocolate tart laced with fish-sauce caramel that surprises with its umami depth.

The Apéro Box which comes with one bánh mì, one donut and two éclairs for $19. It’s a great way to sample the Nonette experience. Pair it with a glass of natural wine — selections include easy-drinking picks from France and Slovenia — and you’re set for a great evening.
