Tribal Dining — Far Eastern Wood-Fired Restaurant at Mondrian Singapore Duxton
Nestled on the ground floor of the Mondrian Singapore Duxton, Tribal Dining is a new yet relatively under-the-radar restaurant.
Tribal’s menu is a delightful homage to Far Eastern cuisine, with a strong emphasis on wood-fired cooking and vibrant Asian flavors. The seasonal specials and ethically sourced beef cuts add a unique touch to the dining experience, ensuring there’s always something new to try.
Here’s what we tried:
🦐Clarence River Prawns
Juicy and succulent, smoked over wood-fire and drenched in rich smoked chicken fat, finished with a punchy laksa gremolata garnish.
🐚Scallops
Subtle smokiness from the wood fire elevated their natural sweetness.
🐟Black Cod
Tender and flaky, it was complemented beautifully by the umami gingerflower reduction and spicy-sweet soy.
🥔Celeriac Mille-Feuille
With its ponzu honey glaze and bits of macadamia nuts, this dish resembled that of a layered lasagna with textural contrast, making it a delightful surprise.
🥭Mango Bavarois
Mangoes atop a panna cotta-like egg custard, infused with Southeast Asian accents of coconut, pandan and kaffir lime. A homemade scoop of gula melaka ice cream ties all the elements together.
