Brotzeit Vivocity
There’s something quietly luxurious about white asparagus season, and Brotzeit Singapore brings that experience beautifully to the table with their limited-time Spargel Wochen menu. Available from now to 14 June 2026, this seasonal showcase celebrates Germany’s beloved “White Gold” - a delicacy so prized that Germans eagerly await Spargelzeit every spring.
What makes white asparagus special is its subtle sweetness and delicate texture. Grown entirely underground away from sunlight, it stays beautifully ivory-white, tender, and less bitter than green asparagus. At Brotzeit, the ingredient truly shines across the menu, whether you’re after something hearty, comforting, or lighter and more refined.
The standout for me has to be the Schweinsschnitzel mit Weissem Spargel - a crisp golden pork schnitzel paired with tender white asparagus, parsley potatoes, and a silky hollandaise sauce that ties everything together effortlessly. It’s rich yet balanced, and exactly the kind of dish that feels comforting without being overly heavy.
If you’re dining in a group, the Spargelplatte is honestly the way to go. Loaded with white asparagus, Black Forest ham, honey-baked ham, crispy schnitzels, and generous servings of hollandaise, it captures the communal spirit of German spring dining so well.
Another dish that deserves a mention is the Rindersteak mit Weissem Spargel, which pairs a juicy, flavourful steak with the delicate sweetness of white asparagus. The contrast between the robust beef flavours and the light, tender asparagus works well, especially with the creamy hollandaise and potatoes on the side.
I also appreciated how the menu doesn’t just focus on heavy meats. The Spargel Bärlauch Risotto was creamy, earthy, and comforting, while the White Asparagus Cream Soup made for a warm and elegant start to the meal. The asparagus flavour comes through gently rather than overpoweringly, which makes it approachable even for first-timers.
To complete the experience, pairing the dishes with the Original Zwick’l Kellerbier felt almost mandatory. The unfiltered lager’s malty, slightly caramel notes complemented the sweetness of the asparagus beautifully.
