Feng Xiang Bak Kut Teh 豐香肉骨茶
After a short hike up Bukit Timah Hill, we went to check out @fengxiangbkt located at Beauty World.
Famed for their KL-Style Bak Kut Teh and Fried Porridge, I was really fascinated with the rousing flames from the stove as the chef skilfully flips the wok. Just a look at it, one could imagine the tantalising scent of wok-hei to be tasted. Swipe to watch it!
Here’s what we tried:
🌟𝐒𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞
The star dish of the day! Every mouthful of porridge was bursting with wok-hei! Though the wok-hei flavour here tasted a little different from the usual, we thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the smooth consistency throughout the bowl of porridge.
𝐁𝐚𝐤 𝐊𝐮𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐡 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐩 & 𝐃𝐫𝐲
@fengxiangbkt specialise in “authentic Klang Bak Kut Teh”, serving up Herbal and Dry Bak Kut Teh in claypot. I find the Dry Bak Kut Teh to be rather unique as I don’t usually see it on menu. While their fried porridge gave me a pleasant surprise, I can’t help but feel a little disappointed with their Bak Kut Teh dishes. It seems to be lacking the depth and robustness that I was expecting.
We also got sides such as 𝐅𝐗 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐭, 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐨 and 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐚 to go along with the mains.
