Hidey Hole — New Arcade-Themed Bistro near Jalan Besar

Located 5 minutes away from Jalan Besar Mrt is a newly opened arcade-themed bistro, @hideyholesg , where you can eat, drink and play! The owners are big fans of bearbricks and you could absolutely get the hint from the shelves of bearbrick collections adorning the walls of the restaurant.

Do check out their menu as it boast a wide variety of selections! Here’s what we tried:

🦀𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫

Consists of crab, crayfish, prawns, mussels, Lala and scallops. I personally feel that the seafood could be fresher, but nonetheless the chilli crab sauce was flavourful and I enjoyed dipping the seafood into it. Also, I enjoyed the accompanying assortment of vegetables such as broccoli, sweet corn, and tomatoes, bringing a balance to the platter.

Remember to pair the seafood platter with either a bowl of white rice or a plate of aglio olio! Though the rice goes well with the flavourful sauce, I personally prefer the al-dente agilo olio that exudes a mild garlicky fragrance.

🥩𝐖𝐚𝐠𝐲𝐮 𝐑𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐞

Very tender with succulent umami juices flowing out once you bite into it. I like it that the meat itself was flavorful with a mild charred flavour to it, but they didn’t overwhelm it, letting the natural sweetness of the meat shines through.
