HighHouse — The High Table with Chef Sun Kim
Set against the sweeping skyline atop One Raffles Place, HighHouse presents a refined interplay of contemporary pan-Asian cuisine, music, and design. More than a rooftop destination, it is an evolving culinary platform - where elevated dining meets immersive atmosphere, and where collaborations like The High Table bring a distinct depth and sophistication to the experience.
I had the chance to experience The High Table, now in its third edition, featuring none other than Chef Sun Kim - and this was where things truly stood out. Known for his two-Michelin-starred restaurant Meta, Chef Sun brings a distinctive balance of Korean heritage and modern technique, and this collaboration felt both thoughtful and refreshingly approachable.
The menu itself was a journey through reimagined Korean favourites:
🥩Beef Carpaccio
Hay-smoked beef tenderloin complemented by charred leeks and a delicate mustard dressing
🦞Lobster Gyeran Jjim
A refined interpretation of haemultang, featuring lobster, minari, and a gentle touch of chilli oil
🍆Eggplant with Salsa
Crispy eggplant layered with puffed quinoa, confit garlic, and bright citrus soy
🐟Kingfish Sashimi
Hiramasa kingfish uplifted with pomelo, shiso, wasabi, and a nuanced gochujang finish
🥩BBQ Short Rib
Galbi-style beef paired with grilled shishito peppers, mushroom, and a smooth onion purée
🥩Steak Bibimbap
A composed rendition with flank steak, Korean zucchini, fungus, and sesame oil
What stood out most was the clarity in each dish — nothing felt overly complicated, yet every element had purpose. It’s a style that reflects Chef Sun’s philosophy: precise, clean, and quietly bold.
While HighHouse is already known for its stunning views and high-energy ambience, The High Table adds another dimension — one that brings serious culinary credibility into the mix. It’s not just a place you go for drinks and skyline photos, but one that’s evolving into a platform for meaningful, chef-driven dining experiences.
