Jamae Guksu Jeju — Must-Try Pork Noodles
One of the must-try when in Jeju is definitely Gogi Guksu 고기국수. After witnessing its popularity with the locals, Sister Noodles aka Jamae Guksu 자매국수 is one to hit up for a hearty bowl of Jeju-style pork noodles.
At 8,500 won per bowl, you can expect a warm and hearty bowl of smooth and firm noodles in a luscious pork broth, topped with simmered sliced pork, chopped scallions and seaweed flakes. The slices of pork were sliced to a good thickness and they were super tender.
You can imagine a mild version of Japanese Tonkotsu ramen, tastes rich yet not overwhelming. I enjoyed the broth and it’s so appetising that it brightened up our day up and got us ready for our day of adventures ahead!
If you’re planning to visit them, be early as it’s super crowded! We waited for an hour even though we reached at 9.30am (only 30 mins into their opening hours)!
Also, almost all restaurants in Jeju requires you making a reservation/taking a queue number via the kiosk/machine upon arrival. Korean number is required so would highly advise to get a SIM card with Korean number for convenience. Further updates on the queue time and number of pax infront of you will be conveyed through Kakao Talk.
