Pork Cutlet Fried Rice 🍚

I had pretty high expectation of Hao Lai Ke’s pork cutlet fried rice especially since I’d just visited the King of Fried Rice* (which by the way was so good). I’ve read reviews that the stall owner was a former DTF chef, hence growing my anticipation and expectation for their pork cutlet fried rice.

To be very honest, I was pretty disappointed upon tasting it. The fried rice lacks the fragrance and wok hey as well as the grain texture, which makes DTF’s/KOFR’s fried rice amazing. The pork cutlet was tender but it’s lacking the slightly glazed crispy exterior as well as flavor. I would recommend to add more chilli to the fried rice for better taste and some kick!

It’s definitely not as good as Din Tai Fung or King of Fried Rice. In terms of pork cutlet fried rice, for the same value i would hands-down choose King of Fried Rice over Hao Lai Ke!

Would recommend getting their Dan Dan Noodles and Pan Fried Dumplings over this. —
