Soba Story — Hidden RSVP-Only Soba at Telok Ayer

Hidden on the second level of the row of restaurants along Telok Ayer Street, is a new start-up specialising in soba. Be surprised with @sobastory_ unconventional soba dishes as they add an interesting twist to the traditional soba dishes.

If you’re looking for an intimate place to dine-in after restrictions are lifted, be sure to check out @sobastory_ as they operate exclusively by RSVP only. No walk-in are accepted🚷. I tried their 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐨 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥 ($36) consisting of 𝟐 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 & 𝐒𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐤. For the mains, I went for:

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐤𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧

Consisting of Somen, Truffle, Ajitama Egg, Tobiko and Ikura, this is a refreshing and lightly flavoured dish. Each strand of somen was well-coated with truffle oil as every bite was full of aromatic truffle flavour.

𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐚 𝐒𝐨𝐛𝐚

Consisting of Cha Soba, Assorted Mushroom and Sakura Ebi, this is a bold savoury soba dish. The addition of sakura ebi adds a flavour-packed umami-ness to the dish.
