Tan Ser Seng Herbs Restaurant — Claypot Turtle Soup

Tan Ser Seng Herbs Restaurant — Claypot Turtle Soup

After my first visit to @tansersengherbs , I totally fell in love with their rich and nourishing herbal soups! I am so glad they are offering island-wide delivery now!

Founded in 1946, @tansersengherbs is one of the few remaining turtle soup restaurants in Singapore.

First introduced in 1986 was Singapore’s first 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐩𝐨𝐭 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐩. Rich and hearty, this bowl of superior soup was simmered for hours with over 20 quality herbs and ingredients, and it’s packed full of collagen and health benefits. The turtle meat tastes alike to a succulent and tender piece of pork. The jelly pieces were smooth, firm and springy. This is a uniquely tasty dish that surpassed our expectations and it’s not as exotic as one imagined. Note: @tansersengherbs do not use endangered or wild turtles. All their turtles are farmed specifically for consumption.

For the less adventurous, @tansersengherbs also offer herbal soups such as the 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧, 𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 and 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐰. Each pot of Gingseng Black Chicken Soup is stewed over night with one whole ginseng, to give a fragrant and rich flavour. As cordyceps are introduced to their chicken’s diet, there is no surprises that the chicken meat is super tender and the chicken skin contains less oil.

To complete your meal, order a bowl of their specialty 𝐘𝐚𝐦 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞 that compliments the herbal soups, along with sides such as 𝐉𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐟𝐮, 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐞, 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐥 and 𝐈𝐜𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐞.

Personally, I feel that there are not many restaurants in Singapore that offer soups so flavorful and nutritious, much less delicious turtle soup and tasty sides and rice to go along with it. @tansersengherbs is definitely worth the try for all ages!
