Taratata Brasserie — Restaurant Week
Don’t you miss enjoying a simple yet hearty meal at your favourite French Brasserie in France? Be transported to France momentarily as you take a step into @taratatabrasserie . Taratata Brasserie is a small cosy French restaurant nestled among the row of shophouses along Keong Saik Road, serving authentic and hearty traditional Brasserie dishes.
I went for their upcoming 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐮, which features a 𝟑 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 lunch at $𝟑𝟖++ per pax.
They start each table off with slices of fresh French Baguette served with French Butter. Fresh and crisp bread is always a welcoming start for me.
For starters, diners get to choose between 𝑬𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒔 𝑽𝒐𝒍 𝒂𝒖 𝑽𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒊𝒆𝒔𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒂𝒖𝒄𝒆 and 𝑯𝒐𝒎𝒆-𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒅, 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒍𝒆𝒔. I personally find the escargots dish interesting because instead of serving the escargots in sprial shells, @taratatabrasserie served them in a small puff pastry filled with mushrooms and topped with tender snails. The Vol au Vent was super light, crispy and crumbly. What a delightful treat for snail lovers!
Next, we had their 𝑩𝒆𝒆𝒇 𝑻𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒉 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒅. Generously served, the beef tartare was lightly marinated with the classic spices and a hint of mayonnaise. Though I enjoyed every bite of the beef tartare, the 𝑷𝒂𝒏-𝑺𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝑺𝒆𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑷𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑹𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐 𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆 really stole the show. The seabass was really fresh, moist and tender with wonderfully crisp skin. The fish meat flaked apart easily and has a firm bite to it. The accompanying ratatouille was so delicious that it’s going to be hard stopping yourself from wipping every morsel of it off the plate.
We ended the meal with a citrusty and refreshing 𝑳𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒂𝒓𝒕 and a warm and rich 𝑪𝒉𝒐𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒗𝒂 𝑪𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑽𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂 𝑰𝒄𝒆 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎.
