Cumi Bali — Indonesian Classics and Homemade Sambal
This is the place to visit if you’re missing Bali!
Be transported to Bali as you step into @cumibalisg , letting the Indon artefacts decorating the interiors and the walls slowly set you in. A family-friendly restaurant, the dishes served at @cumibalisg are unpretentious and simple, yet fresh and delicious with no oil being used at all.
At first glance, the price tag may scare you off, but once you have a taste of their food, you’ll consider making a return visit despite the price tag. The food served here tasted really fresh, delicious and of quality. I tried the following:
𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐤 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠
Crispy Indonesian chips served with a serving of @cumibalisg very own’s 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧. Their 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧 totally stole the show for the night🌟! Made fresh daily with 8 spices, it tasted so fresh, sweet and super fragrant! I couldn’t stop myself from scooping more chilli to go with all the food! I’d totally go back for their 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧 🔥!
𝐂𝐮𝐦𝐢 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐢
Charcoal-Grilled Squid. Covered in a homemade sauce that’s flavorful, savoury and nutty, the squid was grilled perfectly. The sweetness and freshness of the squid really shines through!
𝐀𝐲𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐚
Javanese-style Chicken Satay. It’s no surprise that this is the crowd’s favourite - plump, tender chicken meat with sweet, savoury and smokey flavors.
𝐈𝐤𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐫
Signature wrapping fish lavished with 18 spices and top-grilled to perfection. This is essentially a whole fish bbq-ed in an otah paste. While the fish tasted super fresh, I was hoping for a stronger flavor from the otah paste.
𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢
Lady’s Finger in Sambal. Executed perfectly - fresh and mildly crunchy with a kick.
𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐢 𝐊𝐮𝐧𝐲𝐢𝐭
Fragrant and savoury Yellow Turmeric rice. Made with 11 spices, it’s not surprising to find the rice boast a rich savoury fragrance.
𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐭
Light, cooling and super refreshing. The coconuts were meaty with lots of fresh coconut juice!
@cumibalisg has a cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. I wouldn’t think twice about recommending this spot to anyone who’s on a hunt for tasty Indonesian food🌟!
