Tucked away in Serangoon Gardens, Baci Baci Ristorante Italiano is the kind of neighbourhood Italian spot that feels warm and unpretentious, with a menu built around hearty pastas, wood-fired pizzas and classic Italian comfort food. The restaurant recently celebrated its 12th anniversary with a refreshed look, while keeping the rustic style of cooking it has become known for.

Highlights include:

🍅Cacciucco

A Tuscan-style seafood stew packed with clams, mussels, prawns and squid. The tomato broth was rich and savoury with natural sweetness from the seafood, and absolutely called for bread to mop up every last bit.

🐙Grilled Mediterranean Octopus

Tender and meaty with a lovely smoky char, balanced by a bright tomato salsa.

🥗Burrata Pugliese with Prosciutto Parma

Creamy burrata paired with delicate, salty Parma ham, greens and tomatoes makes for a classic combination that lets the ingredients speak for themselves.

🍝Spaghetti all’Amatriciana

Spaghetti is tossed in a punchy tomato sauce with pancetta, onion, chilli and pecorino, giving it that satisfying mix of savoury richness, acidity and a gentle kick.

🍕6 Formaggi & Honey Pizza

It brings together mozzarella, Parmesan, pecorino, gorgonzola, taleggio and brie, finished with honey. It sounds incredibly rich, but that touch of sweetness cuts through the salty, funky cheeses beautifully. Definitely one for cheese lovers and best shared while it is piping hot.

🥓Maiale Grigliato

Hearty main with a grilled pork chop alongside roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables. It is exactly the sort of no-frills, generously portioned main that fits Baci Baci’s comforting neighbourhood trattoria feel.

🥩Tagliata

Sliced grilled beef served over fresh rocket, finished with shavings of Grana cheese and balsamic. The beef was juicy and savoury, while the peppery rocket, nutty cheese and sweet-tangy balsamic kept the richness nicely balanced.

🍰Homemade Tiramisu

Familiar Italian classic

🍫Chocolate Salami

A more playful pick, served with pistachio ice cream.

🍮Drunk Brulee

Baci Baci’s boozy spin on crème brûlée with Baileys and Kahlua. Creamy, caramelised and just indulgent enough to end the meal on a high.
