TUX Bar & Lounge might surprise you — Afternoon Tea

If you think hotel bars are all about predictable classics, the new menu at TUX Bar & Lounge might surprise you. Their latest “Flavours, Reimagined” collection takes flavours we already know from pastries, coffee, afternoon tea and even street-side mango, then turns them into five rather playful cocktails.

🍌 Cinnamon Banana is probably the most nostalgic of the bunch, taking inspiration from both banana bread and our familiar goreng pisang. Banana-infused whisky is paired with cinnamon brown syrup, chocolate bitters and warm spice, giving this one a richer, more spirit-forward profile rather than turning it into an overly sweet banana cocktail.

🥐 Croissant Espresso Martini was one of the most interesting ideas for me. It combines vodka, cold brew, Kahlúa and croissant syrup, finished with an actual mini croissant. You get the familiar coffee notes of an espresso martini but with that extra buttery pastry element, inspired by the fresh bakes from the hotel’s pastry kitchen.

🫖 For something more grown-up, Earl Grey Negroni brings together Earl Grey-infused gin, Campari and sweet vermouth. The bergamot works naturally with the bitterness of a Negroni, while the smoked Earl Grey orange peel adds another aromatic layer. Definitely one for those who prefer their cocktails less sweet and more spirit-forward.

🍵 Matcha Highball goes in the complete opposite direction. Inspired by Japanese Chado, it pairs rum and matcha with a silky salted cream foam. Creamy on top yet refreshing underneath, it’s probably also the most visually distinctive drink in the collection.

🥭 And if you’re after something brighter and fruitier, Tropical Mango Spice takes inspiration from ripe mango with chilli and lime. Unsweetened mango purée, tequila, lime, coconut syrup and togarashi give it that sweet, tangy and gently spicy combination that feels especially easy to drink in Singapore’s weather.

Happy Hour runs daily until 8pm with house-pour spirits and bottled beers from $8, and wines and cocktails from $10. Weekends bring a $38 two-hour free-flow wine session, Wednesdays have 1-for-1 drinks for ladies, while Thursdays feature selected cocktails at $16 from 4pm to 11pm.
